Marouane Fellaini, the Belgian midfielder arrived at Goodison Park in 2008. He was transferred for a record fee of over £12 million for the English club, Everton. Very soon, Fellaini became a popular figure in Everton and enjoyed a successful five-year spell there. In September 2013, the Manchester United manager David Moyes promptly sign him into his squad. The transfer fee cost over £27.6 million, which put him at the 10th place in our list of top 10 most expensive transfers between EPL Clubs.

His first season with Manchester United was riddled with injuries and poor form. Fellaini was desperate to regain his form and soon became an important player for Louis Van Gaal. But, still there is plenty of challenges ahead of him.

9. Wilfried Bony

Wilfried Bony had a successful spell at Sparta Prague and Vitesse Arnhem. Then, he decided to move on to England and joined Swansea in 2013 for a club record fee of £12 million. Bony wasn’t an instant success for the English club, but soon after finding his feet, the Ivory Coast striker went on a prolific run. He marked his name as the most premier league goal scorer in the 2014 season of EPL. He netted 34 goals in 70 matches for Swansea before being signed by Manchester City in January 2015. The transfer fee was estimated £28 million, which made him the 9th most expensive transfer in EPL.

He will be playing as a second fiddle to Sergio Aguero in Manchester City. Let’s hope he will definitely brings something special for his current club.

8. Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku joined Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2011 with a transfer fee of : £18 million. In the 2012-13 season, he was loaned out first to play for the West Brom and then to Everton in the next season. It worked out very well for the Belgian striker as he scored a combined 33 goals in 71 appearances. But, the Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was still not convinced with Lukaku. On July 2014, Chelsea sold out him to Everton. The transfer fee was a record £28 million for Everton and is regarded as the 8th in the list of Top 10 Most Expensive Transfers between EPL Clubs.

Lukaku is still young and showing good prospects in the Goodison Park.

The teenage left-back, Luke Shaw has proven himself in an excellent manner for a couple of seasons in Southampton before his move to Manchester United last summer. The transfer fee cost over £30 million, which placed him at 7 in our list of top 10 Most Expensive Transfers between EPL Clubs.

The young defender was so impressive that he was selected by Roy Hodgson for the England squad in 2014 Brazil World Cup. However, his performance was disturbed by injuries in Manchester United for couple of months. The young lad has just turned 20 and it’s too early to judge his ability.

6. Rio Ferdinand

Rio Ferdinand became the most expensive transfer in the British Football history, when he moved to Manchester United in the summer 2002. With the total transfer fee of £30 million, it stands at No. 6 in our list of top 10 Most Expensive Transfers between EPL Clubs. Ferdinand passed a hugely successful period at old Trafford. Although, his career was spotted by an eight-month ban in 2004 for a missed drugs test, the other side of his career is much brighter.

He made a total of 453 appearances for the Manchester United before joining QPR in the summer of 2014. Ferdinand had passed a spectacular spell with Manchester United that include six premier league titles, one Champions league title and three league cups.

5. Dimitar Berbatov

The Bulgarian striker had built up a formidable reputation while at Tottenham Hotspurs. He scored a total 46 goals in 102 appearances. He joined the Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in 2006 at £10.9 transfer fee. His incredible performance at Tottenham was well enough to convince Sir Alex Ferguson. Manchester United spent £30.75 million for him despite Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez in their squad.

Dimitar Berbatov spent four years at Old Trafford and achieved the Premier League Golden Boot award in 2010-11 season scoring 21 goals. But, actually he never fully established himself at Old Trafford.

The Spanish midfielder went on to win the champions league in his first season at Stamford Bridge and also named as Chelsea’s Player of the Year in his first two campaigns in Chelsea. But, in 2013, when Jose Mourinho made a return at Stamford Bridge, Mata found himself on the periphery of the team. He was so unfortunate to recapture his form in the Stamford Bridge and only managed to score 20 goals in 110 games.
