Adam Scott is determined as the world no 1 golfer. This time it’s not for a one-week wonder. And he prepares to play at the Crowne Plaza Invitational as the new world No 1 golfer.

Tiger Woods was the recent world no 1 golfer. Scott had missed out quite some occasions to jump above him at the top of the world ranking. Ironically he became the world’s best golfer last week.

To remain at the top of the tree, The Australian must return to action at Colonial in Texas, this week. But he knows very well that he could be one-and-out with Henrik Stenson and Matt Kuchar hot on his heels.

Stenson would need just a top-30 at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, if Scott misses. But if the Australian does make the weekend, Stenson will finish just around three places higher.

Matt Kuchar needs only a win at Colonial to take the top spot. But Adam Scott is determined not to end after just a week. Previously Ernie Els, Fred Couples and Tom Lehman all ended their first spells as world No 1 within just a week.

Last week he played the Byron Nelson and now he is going to play at Colonial in Fort Worth in part to be able to play as the world No 1. May be he understands now, how tight it is at the top of the rankings.

World No 1 golfer:

“It’s quite incredible really, to sit here as the world No 1 golfer. It’s an amazing accomplishment for me “

Scott said.

“Maybe trying to take some pressure off myself and just play golf’

Scott needs to work pretty hard to stay on top. But as a part of coming here this week he must enjoy to play as the No 1 golfer in the world. After then it will be decided what happens.

American Boo Weekley is the defending champion at Colonial. But except Ben Hogan nobody had ever been successful to defend consecutive titles at the event.

Boo Weekly believes that his form is better than last year after he finished fifth last week.

Weekley said,

“I’ve got a lot more confidence, Last year I sat out on that driving range and I probably was averaging 400 or 500 balls in the morning and in the afternoon, as I missed the cut at the Byron”

“I’m hoping maybe this week here my putter will get hot kind of like what it did last year in the middle of the round and continue on”
