This year’s Ballon d’or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has been handed a two-match ban. He was sent off during the match against Cordoba on last Saturday. Though Real Madrid had a 2-1 tight win, the Portuguese football star had to endure a red card as punishment for kicking Edimar Fraga. But as a matter of fact, Madrid fans can keep calm as he is very much expected to return for the Madrid Derby (Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid) on 7th February 2015.

 Ronaldo 2-match ban report:

Referee Alejandro Hernandez dismissed Ronaldo for kicking opponent player during the match. There has been another comment of not reporting CR7’s slap on Jose Crespo. That means the Real Madrid superstar is escaping without a violent-conduct charge, now can get prepared for one of his side’s toughest matches of the campaign against Atletico Madrid.

In the meantime, Cristiano Ronaldo has to miss out the two games against Real Sociedad and Sevilla. Of course, he regretted for the unexpected event after the match,

“I apologise to everyone and especially to Edimar for my thoughtless act in today’s game”

We already know, that the 29-year-old has been in great form so far in this season. He had already scored 34 goals and provided 10 important assists in only 30 appearances across all competitions. Undoubtedly he is continuing to play a vital role in Madrid leading La Liga and hopefully his absence will be a critical issue for the Spanish giants in the upcoming two matches.

Ronaldo does have a history of getting sent off after becoming irritated by opponents. His latest discretion is the ninth of his career. Previously he was also dismissed two times during the Manchester derby and another remarkable, during the 2013 Copa del Rey final against Atletico Madrid. So, in total he got five red cards during his career in Spanish football.

Carlo Ancelotti possesses enough manpower to ensure his side can cope in CR7’s absence. Obviously he has Gareth Bale, who scored the winner against Cordoba and can again provide the winning mark anytime. Another young star, Jese Rodriguez may also receive an extended run in the side, while Javier Hernandez could aid Karim Benzema’s output in a slight change of natural formation of Real Madrid.
